I've been working away on a pen for PENSCAPES, a bay area company that specializes in the most amazing writing instruments. this week I thought you might like a peek at my progress. Painting this tiny is very time consuming and poses all kinds of challenges that I hadn't anticipated when I began. But anyone who knows me knows I live to learn and I really enjoy the miniature format. This will be my 6th pen for this company. You can see finished pens as well as stunning vintage and antique pens at penopoly.com
Of course there was more to make! more walnut babies......
I also taught a watercolor effects class last week, we had a great time exploring the properties of the paints and learning to work with a small pallet to make a huge range of colors.
these are some of the swatch sheets in progress.
last week I spent a day over in Petaluma at Maude, a beautiful shop on western avenue, they sell lots of interesting and beautiful things and I will be putting some of my toys in there over the next few weeks I also hope to teach some classes there. Here's a little peek at the place. http://maudeshop.blogspot.com/
